Worship Services

The First Lutheran Congregation gathers for worship in the sanctuary each Sunday morning at 10:30am. The services are also livestreamed on both Facebok and Youtube, and linked to our website.

Our worship services follow a four-fold pattern of Gathering, Word, Meal, and Sending. The Holy Spirit calls us together as the people of God. We often begin with a time to confess our sins and hear the words of God's forgiveness.  We sing and pray to prepare ourselves to hear God's Word read and proclaimed.  Then God feeds us with the presence of Jesus Christ in Holy Communion, blesses us, and sends us out in mission to the world.

In 2026, we began using the Narrative Lectionary created by Luther Seminary. The Narrative Lectionary is a four-year cycle of readings. On the Sundays from September through May, the texts follow the sweep of the biblical story, from Creation through the early Christian church.

  • From September to mid-December, the texts begin with the early chapters of Genesis, move through the stories of Israel’s early history, the exodus, the kings, prophets, exile, and return.

  • From Christmas to Easter, there is a chronological reading from one of the four gospels. In 2026, we focused on John. In 2027, our focus will be Matthew.

  • From Easter to Pentecost, the texts are chosen from Acts and Paul’s letters.

  • The summer is the perfect time to delve deeper into the Bible with sermon series on different books of the Bible and the catechism. In 2026 we will be focusing on the Letter of First John and Psalms.
